Notice that although students receive the biggest benefit when librarians and teachers collaborate, all members of the school community benefit to some degree.

A picture is worth a thousand words and we believe that this infograph says it all! The "School Libraries and Student Achievement" inforgraph was created by Library Research Services. It is a visual demonstration of the impact of school librarians on student achievement. The infograph shows that "students in schools with endorsed librarians score better on standardized tests" and that this achievement happens despite student poverty levels, overall staffing loses, or family education level. This research was conducted by Keith Curry Lance in Colorado. By clicking on the actual infograph you can to directly to the LRS website where all of Keith Curry Lance's research is available.

This is great!!

Librarians Open Doors for Everyone! We believe this and we want you to believe it too! This slide rocket shows how librarians can open doors for teachers by collaborating with them to team teach. Teachers have the pressures of meeting individual needs, bridging the achievement gap, meeting state standards and of course, the ever present state testing standards. The good news is that teachers do not have to do this alone. The librarian is the perfect person to open that classroom door and support teaching efforts and student learning!

Thumbs up, Pattie!!
very nice work!! I like it!

The Prezi presentation shows how librarians can jumpstart inquiry learning through collaboration with teachers using the IIM research method. Watch how the librarian has the keys of research skills, media literacy expertise, and technology tools to grow Heritage ISD's students' garden of knowledge!

This prezi shows collaboration between the librarian and the teacher using the IIM inquiry process.

Nice job, Ada!! I did IIM also for my 2.4 project as well with Norma!

Marsha can you add an intro?

This is a link for a collaborative lesson on inferences at a 2nd grade level. The teacher and librarian collaborate, co-teach, and assess progress together during this lesson.

Collaborative lessons between the librarian and a first grade teacher on building background knowledge sparks student excitement and motivation through use of an exciting Web tool!

Here is a flyer the district could use to promote National Library Week and to show students, faculty, administration, parents and community members some of the hard work district librarians do throughout the year. Of course, this is just a summary of some ways librarians impact student learning and how they support the educational curriculum and teachers.

I love your flyer! I think we should use it. Do you think you could put our logo on it somewhere just to help it tie in with everything?
